A very Muppet Valentine

One of the fun things about being an artist is creating unique cards and presents for friends and family. Here is a card I drew and then finished in Photoshop for my beautiful (and Muppet obsessed) girlfriend. Happy Valentines y'all...

Mas character designin'

Another for the upcoming Arcana book. The sketch pad I used has a weird hue which, when scanned, turned grey-ish. I think it works for this piece though. What do you think...?

I just have time for a quick post so here's a look at a sketch of a new character for my upcoming graphic novel with Arcana. Dig it!

Method to my madness...and some teaser pages

I wanted to give y'all a little insight as to my working model. I will be using the art for my upcoming one-shot with Viper Comics, "Red Carpet Rats" to demonstrate. For me a big part of the "thinking" portion of producing sequential art is in the page design. The thumbnail/breakdown stage is where this particular scheming commences. Below I will show how my rough breakdowns appear side-by-side with the final page to exemplify how a page can change from conception to completion.

The first is a revamped version of an initial test page I produced for Viper, which I first shared here, and the second is a page from the epic battle sequence.

Also, my good friend Mark Peaslee (of September 23rd Studios) and I are featured in the new anthology "One and Done" from Invest Comics with all proceeds going to support the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. It also happens to be a #1 seller! Read the official press release here, go buy your copy here and read more about the CBLDF here!

Why buy the cow...

...when you get the pages for free? Well that question would hold water if there weren't 23 other pages just like the following 4 bad boys I present to you now:

This is also my way of showing/saying how excited I am for this project with Viper Comics to be released! It's going to be one hell of a read so stay tuned for details on release dates, appearances, etc.!!

In other exciting news, I've just been tapped by the awesome Arcana Studio to produce an upcoming mini-series/graphic novel of theirs, "The  Unemployment Adventures of -"...well I can't tell you that just yet, now can I? More on that soon but believe me, it's pretty damn cool! To pique your interest even more here's a little image which I've obviously doctored to protect the identity of the character. Enjoy!

More news coming soon on "Benjamin and the Fish" from 215 Ink and stay tuned for updates on the "rebellion"...
Also, check out my writer buddy Mark Bertolini's blog @ http://markbertolini.wordpress.com/! Tons of hilarious insight/rants and some great work by a great dude. It doesn't hurt that he's a New York Times best seller...
Yes. You read that correctly. Go now.

Have a great weekend y'all!!

Character designs for the "Rebellion"

Recently I have been included in a new group of artists, writers, creators, etc. who are essentially constructing our own collection of stories and "rebelling" against current popular superhero comics. The book I'm working on with writer George O'Connor is a team book and while I will keep the details a secret at this point here are the designs for the individuals on said team:
